If you are a writer of a certain age, Writing Into the Sunset can be your friend. We publish writing by writers of a certain age. We offer workshops and retreats. We post interesting, useful, or just plain entertaining resources (books, articles, websites) as they come to our attention. Resources also includes the occasional writing tip or writing prompt. Or observation on the world at large. Stay tuned!
Two of us manage the site and make important decisions. We are:
Born in 1946 in Concord, New Hampshire; now living in the great Pacific Northwest.
Francophile, still engaged in more or less hopeless study of the French language, supplemented by frequent viewing of French movies.
Day job: lawyer. I also earn my keep by writing, teaching and editing. My co-authored book Pride and Prejudice and Kitties was published in 2013 by Skyhorse Publishing.
Favorite writers: Jane Austen, P.G. Wodehouse, Barbara Pym. Yeah, I know — they’re all dead. I’m still looking for my favorite living writer.
Born in 1947 in London, England; now living in the great Pacific Northwest.
An Anglophile when in the US and an Americanophile when in the UK — it’s something about the grass on the other side of the fence!
Retired from paid work; volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in foster care; unpublished writer.
Favorite writers: generally it is whoever I am currently reading, which includes Norman Rush, Julian Barnes and Ian McEwan. I also love anyone who writes a good traditional mystery story — current favorites are Deborah Crombie, Julia Spencer Fleming and Elly Griffiths.
